I have been reading The Alchemist this week and it has totally changed my life.
The whole story is a fable for following your dreams. I haven’t finished it yet but already it has inspired me so much.
What I have learnt is that no matter how big your dreams are, you are worthy of them. If you want to achieve your deepest desires in life then the universe will conspire to help you every step of the way. If things go badly or not how you hoped, then that is part of your path to achieve your dream. You shouldn’t be put off when things don’t go the way you expected. You will learn from them and carry on.
In pursuit of the dream, he was being constantly subjected to tests of his persistence and courage. (From The Alchemist)
This relates back to honouring yourself. I am now on day 4 and my challenge today (and for everyone else as well) is to dream BIG! Honour yourself by not holding back on what your dreams are. Let them be as crazy and impossible as you like, then know deep down that they are not impossible.
As children we dream. I had many dreams when I was a child, all of the massive. But I was passionate about them all, and I knew that I could achieve them if I wanted too. Slowly as we get older, society conditions us that we cannot dream. We get told by our parents, teachers, friends, that our dreams are ‘unrealistic’ and will never happen. Slowly we give up.
So today I want us all to rebel against that. Go back to when you were a child and would dream. Today I want you to dream and DREAM BIG. Do not hold back on what you want out life.
You are worthy and you can achieve anything.
It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting…
