Tahini Oat Bars

I have my next yoga teacher training this weekend so that means I need fuel! I spent this afternoon searching through my cupboard for any ingredients to bake something and I came up with these oat bars (they’re pretty good!)


  • 1 1/2 cups of muesli
  • 1/4 cup chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup flaxseeds
  • 1/4 cup date syrup
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 bananas


  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees centigrade
  • Mix everything in a bowl
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown


I use ‘cup’ measurements because this recipe can easily be scaled to whatever size you want. Don’t worry about not being exact and don’t worry about what size your cup is, it all works fine!

Also note that loads of things can be added or substituted in this recipe depending on your tastes. You could use peanut butter instead of tahini or maple syrup instead of date syrup. You could add dates or pumpkin seeds or flavouring such as cinnamon, nutmeg or cacao powder. It really is up to you. This is the type of recipe where it doesn’t really matter what you have in the house, you kind of just throw everything into a bowl!
