January can be a tough month – it is cold and dark, Christmas is over and summer seems so far away… (not that I want to complain.) However I do love January because I am always so excited about setting intentions for the rest of the year and getting clear on what I want to manifest. Even still, I do need something to look forward too to get me through the dark days… For me that is in the form of a yoga/ meditation retreat!
There are so many retreats out there that it can be overwhelming to know which one to choose. When I first started looking for a retreat it took me hours and I got nowhere. I wanted to find a reasonably priced retreat with a good teacher and it was so difficult! Many days later I have found a few and I want to share them all with you!
Island Yoga- Aruba
I was in Aruba last year, not on a retreat, but I went to the studio twice a day and fell in LOVE. It is magical in there..
They have 4 retreats in 2018, all hosted by the amazing Yoga Girl aka Rachel Brathen. However their retreats are a little on the pricey side so if you are like me and on a budget then it is more affordable just to travel to the island and practice at the studio rather than doing a retreat, it is still an amazing experience however I would say you miss out on the aspect of connecting with other retreaters.
All their teachers are amazing though, so even if you do end up paying a little extra and going on one of their retreats, you won’t be disappointed.

The House of Yoga – Yin and meditation retreat – Sardinia
The House of Yoga, in Putney, is the yoga studio where I am currently doing my teacher training. It is such an amazing community and I am excited to share with you all that they are now hosting retreats!
This retreat is in April, I know the teachers and have been to both of their classes and they are definitely amazing teachers. The retreat is super good value for money and something more gentle and relaxing if that is what you need.

If you are looking for a yoga retreat anywhere in the world, the best place to look is BOOK YOGA RETREATS. On my own search for yoga retreats I have been brought back again and again to this website, simply because it comprises all yoga retreats in one place. It has retreats for people on a budget as well so super useful!
If you are looking for a meditation retreat then I would recommend looking HERE. I have just recently booked a meditation retreat for myself in March and I am super excited- 10 days of complete silence and stillness is my idea of heaven!
I hope this has been helpful for everyone! It is a little different from what I usually post, but I have struggled in the past to find a good yoga retreat so I wanted to share some of what I have discovered with others out there.
